Criteria for Publication
The following criteria are used to determine publication. The Editorial Board will make the final decision on manuscripts that have received a certain score or higher from two reviewers. Authors are encouraged to refer to these criteria when preparing their manuscripts. As this journal aims to improve the research capabilities of scholars and promote exchange, we place high importance on whether the submitted manuscript meets fundamental academic standards.
Preliminary Review
The Editorial Board will evaluate the following three points and notify the author whether the manuscript is "Passed," "Conditionally Passed," or "Rejected." "Conditionally Passed" applies to manuscripts requiring only minor corrections; if the author completes the revisions by the deadline, the status will change to "Passed."
- Format: The word count is appropriate, the manuscript follows the guidelines, and the writing reaches an academic level.
- Academic Standard: The manuscript maintains the minimum standards for an academic paper (undergraduate-level reports or personal opinion pieces are not accepted).
- Ethics: The manuscript adheres to general research ethics, with no suspicion of misconduct or inappropriate use of AI.
Peer Review
Two reviewers will evaluate the following six items on a five-point scale:
5: Excellent, 4: Good, 3: Average, 2: Needs Improvement, 1: Insufficient
The criteria for the final decision based on the two reviewers’ results are as follows:
-
Acceptance (Accept): Manuscripts where all items are rated "3: Average" or higher by both reviewers, and at least one item is rated "4: Good" or higher. The Editorial Board will make the final determination for publication.
(Note: If the number of submissions is high, the acceptance threshold may be raised by requiring more than one item to be rated "4: Good" or higher. In such cases, authors will be notified of the details in the review results.)
-
Conditional Acceptance (Revise and Resubmit): Manuscripts where at least one reviewer has rated an item as "2: Needs Improvement," or where all items are rated as "3: Average." The Editorial Board will suggest revision and resubmission with feedback. If revisions are completed by the deadline and approved by the Editorial Board, the paper will be published in the current issue.
-
Rejection (Reject): Manuscripts that receive a "1: Insufficient" from either reviewer, or those with multiple "2: Needs Improvement" ratings (typically three or more) requiring extensive rewriting. The author will be notified of the rejection with feedback.
-
Procedure for Conflicting Reviews: If the evaluations of the two reviewers differ significantly, a third reviewer will be appointed. In such cases, for each evaluation item, the higher two scores among the three reviewers will be adopted for the final decision.
Evaluation Items
- Academic Background and Research Question: Provides a concise academic background and clearly presents the research question.
- Argument (Answer): Makes an argument based on evidence in response to the research question.
- Methodology: Adopts persuasive analytical perspectives and research methods relevant to the question and argument.
- Literature Review: Clarifies the position of the manuscript by showing systematic or conflicting relationships rather than just listing previous studies.
- Accuracy: Rigorous interpretation of materials and data collection/analysis.
- Academic Value: The argument has academic merit (e.g., theoretical contribution, empirical discovery, methodological proposal, discovery of new important materials, new interpretation of previous research, implications for educational practice, etc.).
Review results will be notified as either Acceptance, Conditional Acceptance, or Rejection.
